Frequency:

  • The first treatment starts with 2 -3 weeks of skincare preparation at home
  • You are then invited into clinic for a preparation peel
  • 2-3 days following this peel you will be invited into clinic for your Cosmelan 1 peel.
  • We will assess your skin 7 days post peel and commence the next phase, using Cosmelan 2 twice daily for the next 6 months

Cosmelan treatments are typically performed every 12 months, depending on individual skin needs and responses to the treatment.

Aftercare and Downtime:

Aftercare is crucial for optimal results. Patients should adhere to a specific post-treatment regimen, including using prescribed products like their Melan Recovery and SPF. In the first phase, minimal downtime is expected, with some patients experiencing mild redness and peeling for a few days.
Upon commencement of Cosmelan 2 you may experience some redness, peeling and swelling between days 7 and days 15.

Duration:

The total time for the Cosmelan peel treatment is approximately 45 minutes, including consultation, preparation, application, and recovery instructions.

Discomfort Level:

Most patients report mild discomfort during the application, often described as a tingling or warming sensation, which resolves shortly after the treatment.
